Career Technical Education (CTE) programs engage every student in high-quality, rigorous, and relevant classes, designed to help students turn their passions into paychecks and their dreams into careers. The Mission of Career and Technical Education (CTE) is to provide students with the technical skills and academic knowledge needed to prepare them for future employment and/or a successful transition to post-secondary education CTE Pathways show students a direct connection between doing well in high school and being able to transition smoothly to post-secondary opportunities or getting a good job when they graduate.

 Business Finance Pathway

The emphasis of the Business Finance — Finance pathway is on banking services, primarily accepting deposits, lending funds, and extending credit. Focus includes cash management, short-term investments, mortgages and other loans, and credit cards. Banking services are delivered via a number of different institutions, from commercial banks and other traditional means (credit unions, savings and loans associations, and local banks) to newer ventures through insurance companies, brokerage houses, and the Internet.

 Network Systems Pathway

Network Systems focuses on the design, implementation, and management of networked systems and associated software to maximize efficiency and productivity that prepares individuals to function as network specialists and managers. It includes instruction in operating systems and applications; systems design and analysis; networking theory and solutions; types of networks, network management and control; network and flow optimization; security; configuring; and troubleshooting.

 Web and Digital Communications Pathway

Careers in Web and Digital Communications involve creating, designing and producing interactive multimedia products and services, including development of digitally-generated or computer-enhanced media used in business, training, entertainment, communications and marketing. Organizations of all types and sizes use digital media (the World Wide Web, CD-ROM, DVD) to communicate with existing and potential customers, to track transactions, and to collaborate with colleagues.

 Digital Media Pathway

Students in the Digital Media Pathway focus on creating, producing, and operating digital production used to communicate to various audiences. As skills progress, students assume more responsibility in producing media for the schools that use multimedia to broadcast information, such as upcoming events, school highlights and other messages to students. Communications specialists, reporters and correspondents gather information and prepare media that informs audiences about current issues and local, state, national and international events.

 Fashion, Apparel, Interior Design Pathway

Fashion, Apparel and Interior designers combine the principles and elements of design, production processes and maintenance techniques with the needs of humans to create four-dimensional designs. Actual experiences with textiles, interior spaces, and apparel in which the design elements and principles are used to create an environment and/or item that fits a need, is appropriate for the user/consumer but also conveys physical comfort and positive emotion. The use of space, color, texture and styling combined with an individual's unique creativity are used to build a foundation for careers in the fashion, apparel and interior design fields.

 Family, Community & Consumer Services Pathway

The Family, Community and Consumer Services pathway focuses on careers relating to meeting the essential needs of people, especially occupations which focus on relationships between and among family members including family counseling, marriage therapy, non-profit management and others related to helping others. Employees with careers in family, community and consumer services help the homeless, housebound, and infirm cope with circumstances of daily living; counsel troubled and emotionally disturbed individuals; train or retrain the unemployed or underemployed; care for the elderly and the physically and mentally disabled; help the needy obtain financial assistance; and solicit contributions for various social services organizations. This pathway is unique in that the entire human condition is reviewed. This is based on the philosophy that no one topic is stand alone, but rather needs to be studied together just as people interact with society on a daily basis and function in the world. A strong tie to service leadership is part of this pathway which enhances empathy and caring, two traits important to this area.

 Construction & Design Pathway

To prepare students with the knowledge and skills necessary for continued education and, ultimately, a successful career in architecture, construction, and skilled mechanical trades occupations. These are the people who build and remodel houses, apartments, industrial buildings, warehouses, office buildings, churches, schools and recreational facilities. This pathway also includes the builders of highways, streets, bridges, tunnels and airports as well as power plants, chemical plants, refineries and mills. Employees in construction literally build our future!

 Engineering & Applied Mathematics Pathway

Students experience hands-on problem solving and gain visualization and communication skills using 3-D solid modeling software. As students progress to senior-level coursework, they are teamed with other students to research an open-ended problem and design, and construct a solution.

Health Science orients students to careers that promote health, wellness, and diagnosis as well as treat injuries and diseases. Some of the careers involve working directly with people, while others involve research into diseases. Work locations are varied and may be in hospitals, medical or dental offices or labs, sports arenas, medivac units, or within the community.

The Energy Pathway courses are designed to provide a basic understanding of the various types of energy, how energy is obtained and the relationships among work, energy, and power. Students will also study the history and effects of energy on society, alternative power, safety and ethics. Students will evaluate the environmental benefits provided by sustainable resources and green technologies. Instruction is designed to allow for the application of science and technology to measure environmental impacts resulting from production agriculture through field and laboratory experiences.
